Is there anything more satisfying?
On Tuesday I got a breadmaker and I love it! So easy to use! You just whack all the ingredients in and press 'on'. It will then mix, knead, rest and bake.
I made the first loaf by following the recipe in the manual. What emerged was more like a cake than bread - sweet and stodgy. R&A have a tried and tested recipe (more flour, less sugar) so I followed that next. It is the perfect loaf.
Yum yum!
A while ago Emma blogged about a cranberry liqueur recipe that she found, and I knew I had to make it. I added the ingredients to my grocery shopping, which got delivered this morning.
Will be ready in time for Christmas! Nom nom! I only used about half a bottle of vodka so might make up another batch to give as a present to someone!
In knitting news, I have begun my first Wollmeise project.
As you can see I haven't got very far. I did start the Lacy Cabley Knee Socks, but found the pattern pretty frustrating. I don't think it's actually a difficult pattern - it's just that the yarn is so dark I constantly forgot what was going on. I therefore frogged and started again with the Express Lane pattern.
Still waiting for my skein of Campari Orange to arrive...
Oh, and last but not least, I finally made a successful batch of bath bombs!
What a busy weekend! On Saturday morning I headed to Alice's house for some knitting. I left at about 1pm (after drinking a Pimm's rather quickly) and met Ross for a wander round Portobello market. We popped home for an hour, and then headed to a surprise 30th birthday party. So many of our friends are turning 30 this year! Apparently the party went on until 8am but we left at 2.
On Sunday I worked on Audrey...

...and made coriander houmous.

I'm based in Enfield for the next couple of weeks whilst I train for my new job, and I'm making the 1 hr 40 minute (each way) journey worth it!
No knitting news, I'm far too tired by the time I get home. Should get some done over the weekend though.
